Green, laid-back, comfortable homes

So I wish to decorate my home... or maybe I could settle with any other homes

Whenever I plan to move to  new house, I always dream of having little corners of the house filled with my DIY creations. I  like to think of the house to have a simple, minimalist yet modern and edgy design.

So whenever I browse the net for daily inspirations and relaxations,
I always make the effort to archive all these stumbled-upon awesome creative ideas.

Apparently, the task of decorating (or may I say the privilege) is always assigned to my mom. Haha I think sometimes it's because I've got too many ideas that it scares my other family members too.. So I thought I would organise my ideas here in writing, and share them with you,

perhaps for my future house or any takers?

Best of Indonesia: Tex Saverio

Tex Saverio is world-renowned Indonesian designer, known for his amazing creation that is the wedding dress for Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire". A similar dress was presented from his collection at Jakarta Fashion Week in November 2010. Feast your eyes on the Capitol Couture.

Katniss' bridal dress is covered in Swarovski crystals, the metal cage is extended to signify fire and the voluminous skirt is covered in Mockingjay-esque chiffon, which is very suited to the costume designer, Caesar Flickerman's request, for the twirling and spinning Katniss does on stage.

His works are also adored by A-list celebrities such as
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga in Tex Saverio for Harper's Bazaar,
the dress came from his first couture collection: My Courtesan

Kim Kardashian also wore Tex Saverio in Elle March 2013 issue.

The dress was from La Glacon 2011 Collection, his second couture collection.

Glad to have him around to bring Indonesia fashion to the world's stage :)

Looking forward to seeing Tex's gorgeous works. His shows would surely by fascinating to watch.

Sincerely love,
Aurelia.

Restless about the future, career and sorts

One of my all time new year's resolutions is to be a more successful person in life. With that, one thing I know for sure is I need to be more FOCUSED on what I am doing with my life. So I was casually browsing through facebook (currently this is where I get most of my news update and info from)... and I stumble upon this good article on how to be a successful leader at your work, even at a young age. I thought I better share it with you, and for my own reminder that I need to review once in a while. Here it is:
The article is from forbes.com and you can view it through the link below

  1. Start preparing before you enter the workforce -from small communities eg college/church
  2. Do your homework -organizational leadership courses/read up
  3. Take time to assess the culture of the organization -observe, be patient
  4. Keep a learner's mind -a positive attitude, inquiring
  5. Identify areas where you can provide new insight or help -act as a "change agent"
  6. Offer your help -to gain practice on managing skills (small committees/ form teams)
  7. Do your work and abide by the rules -remember your basic tasks and do it well
  8. Communicate and connect
  9. Give credit where credit is due -"If you complete a project and are complimented on it, and someone has helped you, mention that"
  10. Establish relationships with superiors and find a mentor -create a mutually beneficial relationship and follow their successful behavior, learn how they process things and handle problems.
Hope we learn something useful today and apply it in our real life!
